This Privacy Policy explains what information Cleara collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using Cleara you agree to the practices described here.
When you set up your profile you may share details such as your name, age, gender, country, skin type, sensitivity, and skincare goals. You can edit or remove these at any time.
When you take or upload a photo for a skin scan, Cleara processes the image to generate your skin analysis and scores. Your primary scan photo is stored locally on your device so you can track progress over time.
Cleara’s skin scan works with photos of your face that you choose to take or upload. The only face data Cleara collects is the facial images you provide for a scan. These images are used for one purpose: to generate your cosmetic skin analysis, skin score, and personalized skincare recommendations, and — if you have a previous scan — to confirm the new photo is of the same person so your progress tracks correctly. To produce the analysis, the image is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, which processes it only to return the result and does not use it to train its models. Your face images are never sold, are not shared with any other third parties, and are not used for advertising or any form of tracking. Your primary scan photo is stored locally on your device so you can compare progress over time; any additional angle photos are used only for that single scan and are not saved. Cleara does not store your face images on its own servers. Face data is retained on your device until you delete the scan or delete the app, and you can remove your scans at any time from within the app.
You may choose to add medical notes or allergens. This information is optional, is stored only on your device, and is gated behind a separate consent toggle. It is included in AI requests only if you turn on “Share medical context with AI,” and you can delete it at any time from your profile.
Cleara stores your routines, saved products, check-ins, and progress history locally on your device so the app can personalize your experience.
Your profile, scans, routines, and check-ins are stored locally on your device. Cleara does not maintain a personal account server for this content.
To analyze your skin, answer your questions, identify products, and find prices, Cleara sends the relevant input — such as a scan photo, your message, or a product image — to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate a response. This is used only to deliver the requested feature. Medical context is sent only if you have opted in.
Cleara uses your camera and photo library solely to capture or select images for skin and product scans, and only with your permission.
Subscriptions and payments are handled by Apple through the App Store. Cleara receives your subscription status but never sees or stores your payment card details.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that help operate the app (such as our AI provider), with Apple for purchases, or where required by law.
You can edit or delete your profile and medical data in the app at any time. Deleting the app removes locally stored data from your device. For help with a privacy request, contact us at cleara.support@gmail.com.
Cleara is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region), and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Cleara provides cosmetic skincare guidance only. It is not a medical device and not a substitute for professional medical or dermatological advice.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, let you know in the app.
